There is an interurban train called S-Bahn (Symbol: white S on green point) to Dresden. The station is underneath the arrival level.
The tickets can be bought at the vending machines. In order to purchase a ticket, please select number 1 (the price is 1,50 EUR). Ticket machines are available on the railway platform and in the trains.
Trains depart every 30 minutes from Dresden Airport station (4.56am until 10.56pm). Some trains go directly to Dresden Hauptbahnhof (the main station), others go to Dresden Neustadt only. In the latter case you have to change trains in Dresden Neustadt. Usually there are connecting trains in direction Schöna (line S1) some minutes later. A trip without changing trains takes about 25 minutes.
The stops on the way from the airport are: Dresden Grenzstraße, Dresden Klotzsche, Dresden Industriegelände, Dresden Neustadt, Dresden Mitte and Dresden Hauptbahnhof.
The HTW Dresden is immediately behind the Dresden Hauptbahnhof station in the south-east direction.
A walk to the HTW Dresden takes about 5 to 10 minutes.
A taxi from the airport to HTW Dresden costs about 17 EUR.
